Abortion Care Guide
Culturally and linguistically accessible abortion care resources are not just helpful—they are powerful.
The Abortion Care Guide (ACG) was created because South Asians deserve to have knowledge and information that is relatable and celebratory of their bodies and cultures. Our hope is that this resource can both fill critical gaps in access and inspire dialogue about abortions within our diaspora.
The ACG provides medically-factual information on abortion logistics, methods, and aftercare, and it’s been translated into 20 South Asian languages. This guide is the first in an upcoming collection of sexual & reproductive health & wellness (SRHW) resources, created by and for South Asians.

A Note on Translations
Respond Crisis Translation are our trusted translators of the messages put forth in the Abortion Care Guide from our native languages. As you may know, some South Asian languages do not have direct translations for the terminology that exists in the English language (and vice versa), or use inherently gendered-language to describe ideas. While we did our best to ground the ACG’s language in the values of accessibility and inclusivity, we recognize that there is always room to evolve both the terminology available to us and our translations.
Share Your Feedback
As you read through the ACG in your native language, if you come across a better term or phrase to represent the idea communicated in the ACG, please share that with us in our ACG feedback survey.
This is our first step in responding to our diaspora’s needs for linguistically-accessible and culturally-relevant SRHW resources. We are humbled to be on this journey, and look forward to applying our learnings for resources to come!
