In honor of AANHPI Heritage Month and the launch of our Abortion Care Guide, we invited Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal to offer her reflections on why the Abortion Care Guide is SO important for our diaspora.

Congresswoman Japayal publicly shared her own abortion story in 2019, emphasizing that: "For me, terminating my pregnancy was not an easy choice, but it was my choice. That is the single thing that has allowed me to live with the consequences of my decisions," Jayapal concludes. "And that is what must be preserved, for every pregnant person."

Her relentless advocacy has not only helped to destigmatize abortion but also highlights the need for accessible and comprehensive reproductive healthcare for all individuals.
